FiOS Media Manager Troubleshooting Guide
Media Manager Installation Process

From the FiOS TV Central website, http://www36.verizon.com/fiostv/web/, select Media Manager from the left hand menu.

The Media Manager information site is displayed. On the right hand side of the display, a Download link is offered for the PC Client/Windows version of Media Manager.

When the Download button is clicked, a Terms of Service window appears with the Media Manager Software License Agreement. The check box stating the user is a current DVR subscriber and agrees to the Software License statement must be clicked. Then the user clicks on the Download button. Note: the Download button is greyed out until the check box is clicked.

Once the Download button is clicked, the download process begins. First, for Internet Explorer, the user is asked to confirm that the .exe file should be Run. If the user clicks the Don't Run button, the install process stops.

If the user clicks the Run button, then the InstallShield Wizard window is displayed with a progression slide and a Cancel button.

When the progression is complete for the InstallShield Wizard, the Windows Installer window is displayed with a progression slide and a Cancel button..

When the progression is complete for the Windows Installer, the Wizard screen is displayed. Two buttons are offered:

  • Next > - to continue the installation process;
  • Cancel - to stop the installation process.

When the user clicks on the Next > button, the Software License Agreement is displayed. The user must accept the listed terms and click on the top radio button (which is mutually exclusive with the default "I do not accept" radio button.)

  • < Back button - to return to the previous screen;
  • Next > button - only becomes available after the user clicks on the "accept" radio button; continue the installation process
  • Cancel button - to stop the installation process.

When the "accept" radio button is clicked followed by the Next > button, the installation process continues by prompting for unique name for the computer and allowing the user to choose where the Verizon Media Manager files are stored on that computer.

  • Blank field - to populate with a unique name for the computer, maximum 15 characters;
  • Change button - to select an alternate location for the Verizon Media Manager files to be stored;
  • < Back button - to return to the previous screen;
  • Next > button - to continue the installation process;
  • Cancel button - to stop the installation process.

If the user clicks on the Next > button, the installation process completes and then the initialization process begins.

The initialization process begins automatically with only the Cancel button active until the process completes. When complete, the options are:

  • < Back button - to return to the previous screen;
  • Next > button - to continue the installation process;
  • Cancel button - to stop the installation process.
If the user clicks on the Next > button, a small window appears indicating the final step in the installation process.

When complete, the display indicates that the Setup is complete.

The final Setup window offers one choice to the user: whether or not to automatically launch Verizon Media Manager at Startup. The user may 'unclick' the box to stop the automatic launch, if desired. The user should then click on the Finish button to end the process by launching Verizon Media Manager and closing the Setup window.

For a successful installation, Verizon Media Manager should now be opened on the computer.
